Training and Qualifications
The BSAC was formed in 1953 and is the National Governing Body (NGB) for the sport in the UK. Qualifications are recognised all over the world. As a BSAC Centre of Excellence, Seaways run the entire suite of BSAC courses.
Want to take your diving further? The BSAC has always been at the forefront of adventurous diving. Technical diving covers a number of different skills and types of equipment. At Seaways we teach everything from Accelerated Decompression to Advanced Mixed Gas diving using either Open Circuit or Rebreathers.
As a BSAC Seamanship Centre, we teach boathandling, run the Diver Cox'n Assessment endorsed by the MCA, teach chartwork, position fixing, electronic nav aids and all the skills you need to find the dive site with your own boat!
At Seaways, we are fortunate to have a skilled underwater photographer on staff and can run a range of courses designed to help you get more from your underwater camera. Come along and take part in a set course or arrange a 1 to 1 session with our expert.
Breath hold diving with just Basic Equipment (mask, fins and snorkel) has been around a long time and has always been included in BSAC diver training. If you prefer this type of diving freedom, we can help. Ideal as a family activity, there are no age limits!
Safety is at the core of all our training and the BSAC qualifications all have elements of diver rescue, appropriate to the grade. We also run a Practical Rescue Management course in addition to a number of different First Aid related courses.
Using the EFR (Emergency First Response) range of courses, Seaways are able to offer a number of First Aid courses targeted at specific work and everyday situations. Whether it’s First Aid at Work following HSE guidelines or Childcare First Aid, or if you just want to be prepared for what life can throw at you, your course will be led by an experienced EFR instructor.
