Harbour: Falmouth, Mylor

Max depth: 25m

The Peterson was an iron ore carrier which sunk after a collision in Falmouth Bay on 13th March 1918.  The site is a large iron ore mound with most of what remains of thew wreck either buried underneath the mound or dispersed.  You can see various features like the Bitts (sometimes erroneously called Bollards) and other parts scattered around the wreck.

Look carefully around the edge of the site and underneath the overhanging parts for congers and life.  Depth varies between 23m to 25m and can be quite silty so careful with your fining technique!
